Digital gates opened at Adani Gangavaram Port

In a first of its kind in what is termed as DigiYatra for Ports, Adani Gangavaram Port has taken a pioneering step in its digital transformation journey with the launch of digital smart gates, an industry first initiative.,

The digital gates have been implemented across multiple critical stages of port operations—including parking zones, entry gates, weighbridges, and tarpaulin stations—ensuring a fully streamlined and technology-enabled logistics flow to reduce time in movement of vehicles in and out of the port compound.,

This advanced system integrates with existing FASTag technology with Terminal Operating System, TOS, connectivity, port operating system, and customer integration, delivering a seamless, transparent, and highly secure logistics experience., The digital smart gate system has been designed to improve operational efficiency and deliver a seamless end to end customer experience.

By replacing manual gate operations with fully automated, contactless processing, the port now ensures faster vehicle clearance, improved accuracy, and a smoother flow of operations., Key highlights of the operational transformation includes 100% digital gate operations, FASTag/RFID-based verification eliminates manual checks, ensuring fast and accurate processing., enhanced security and access control.

The gates will allow only authorised vehicles to enter, strengthening security at the port perimeter. It is expected to ensure improved traffic flow and reduced congestion, automated gate clearance and real-time tracking reduce waiting times and prevent bottlenecks and seamless driver experience.

After inaugurating the gates, Principal Commissioner of Customs & CGST N. Sridhar stated that the inclusion of technology-driven transformation in port operations plays a vital role in facilitating seamless trade while maintaining strong regulatory oversight. Digital initiatives like these improve efficiency, ensure transparency and create a more predictable environment for import and export logistic partners.

The company said in addition to these operational benefits, the system enhances transparency and control by providing real-time visibility of vehicle movements.
